2023/24 FUFA Women Super League: Matchday Four Review

The FUFA Women Super League continued over the weekend with four exciting matches. A total of 12 goals were scored, with one home team win, one away team win, and two draws.

The match between Kawempe Muslim and She Makerere was postponed due to Kawempe players (3 and more) on the Uganda U20 Women Football National Team.

Uganda Martyrs Draw with Asubo Ladies

The hosts, Uganda Martyrs, came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Asubo Ladies in Lubaga. Zaina Namboozo and Auki Kigongo (own goal) scored for the visitors, while Latifah Nakasi and Moureen Kizza netted for the hosts.

This was Asubo’s first point of the season, while Uganda Martyrs were left disappointed for dropping points at home against a team that was pointless in the first three games.

In the same game, Asubo’s Namboozo was shown a red card and became the first player to e sent off this season.

UCU Lady Cardinals Edge Wakiso Hill

In Mukono, Christine Nakiridde and Ritah Adero netted a goal each in the second half as UCU Lady Cardinals edged Wakiso Hill WFC 2-0 to register first win of the season.

This was the first win for UCU in four games after losing two and drawing once in the first three games and it was the second loss for Wakiso Hill this season.

Kampala Queens Extend Winning Run

Defending champions Kampala Queens continued their dominance against Rines SS WFC when they edged the Wakiso based side 2-0 on Sunday morning.

Ikwaput’s early goal in two minutes gave the visitors the lead before Zaina Nandede doubled the lead in the first stanza.

This was Kampala Queens’ third win of the season, and they remain unbeaten at the top of the table with 10 points.

Lady Doves Share Spoils with She Maroons

In Masindi, visitors She Maroons bottled the lead twice as the two teams shared spoils in an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Sumaya Nsisi and Winnie Nabaale netted for Lady Doves, while Anita Babirye scored a brace to secure a point for She Maroons to stay unbeaten.

Kawempe Muslim vs She Makerere FC Postponed

The match between Kawempe Muslim and She Makerere FC that was scheduled for Sunday was postponed due to Kawempe players being on the Uganda U20 Women Football National Team.

The match has been rescheduled for Wednesday, November 22nd at 4PM at the Kawempe playground.
