CBE FC of Ethiopia crushed Yei Joint Stars of South Sudan 4-0 in the last group A game of the 2023 CECAFA Women’s Champions League on Thursday at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.
The win cemented top position for CBE FC in group A and they will play Vihiga Queens of Kenya in the semifinals, who finished second in group B.
Ariet Odong opened the scoring for CBE FC in the 28th minute, before Loza Abera added a second just before half-time.
Senayt Bogale scored the third goal in the 61st minute and Mesay Temesgen added a fourth in the 77th minute to complete the rout.
The win was a deserved result for CBE FC, who were the better team throughout the game.
Buja Queens will take on FAD FC in the other group A game later today at 4PM. Buja need to win to make it to the semifinals, where they will meet JKT Queens of Tanzania.
