The representatives of Uganda in the ongoing FEASSSA game in Rwanda in girls football, started with wins.
Defending Champions St Noa, showed resilience when they fought hard to beat Ziba of Tanzania 2-1 in their opening game on Sunday in Huye, Rwanda.
Captain Sarah Babirye netted the opener to put St Noa in the lead before they conceded the equalizer at the start of the second half of the game.
The Jimmy Mukubya coached side restored the lead through sharp striker Sylvia Kabene which later turned into a winning game.
Kawempe Muslim defeated Butera Girls of Kenya 3-1 to start the tournament on a bright note.
Hadijah Babirye and Allen Nassazi put Kawempe in the lead in the first half and their lead was sealed by Phionah Nabulime while Diana Anyango scored the consolation for Butera Girls.
The defending champions of USSSA games Amus opened the tournament with a narrow 1-0 win over Apaer Girls. Opisa Shaylne scored the important goal for Amus.
Today, Kawempe will play Ziba before meeting rivals St Noa on match day three of group A.
