Uganda’s Kawempe Muslim defeated Wiyeta of Kenya in the final to lift 2023 girls’ football trophy at FEASSSA Games.

Shakirah Nyinagahirwa and Hadija Nandago‘s second half goals, were enough for Kawempe to beat Wiyeta of Kenya and lift their third title.

Kawempe Muslim dominated the game from the kickoff but couldn’t break the deadlock in the first half as it ended all square.

In the second half, Shakirah Nyinagahirwa scored a beautiful goal to put Kawempe in a deserved lead.

Flamboyant talent, Hadijah Nandago doubled the lead for Kawempe Muslim and they managed to keep safe their lead and won the game.

The two match winners Nyinagahirwa and Nandago joined the team in Rwanda from Kampala Queens camp few days back and only played two vital games to help the team win the title.

Last year, Wiyeta lost the final to Uganda’s St Noa Girls Zaana, and they have lost it again this year to Uganda’s Kawempe Muslim.

Kawempe Muslim have so far won three Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) titles. They won it in 2012 in Burundi, 2019 in Tanzania and now 2023 in Rwanda.

Meanwhile, St Noa Girls School Zzana humbled Amus College 4-0 to win a bronze medal at Huye International Stadium.
