The 2023 Futsal Uganda Cup returns today with two group stage matches at Old Kampala Arena. Park FC will face Motion Sports at 7:30pm, while Al Haramen will take on defending champions Yeak Kabowa at 8:30pm.
Park FC have already qualified for the quarterfinals from Group D, while their opponents Motion Sports are already out of the competition.
The second slot from the group will be contested by Yeak Kabowa and Al Haramen, who are both tied on three points.
If Yeak Kabowa and Al Haramen draw, head-to-head will be used to determine the qualifier. If that is also tied, fair play will be applied and Al Haramen will progress since they have fewer cards than Yeak Kabowa.
Last Friday, God’s Glory lost 2-6 to Kisenyi, while Pitch Pirates beat Mengo 4-2. These results ensured that Pitch Pirates and Kisenyi progressed to the next stage.
Seven teams have already stormed the quarterfinals: FC Luzira, Edgars’ Youth Programme, Kabowa Dream Team, First Touch Sports, Pitch Pirates, Kisenyi FC, and Park FC. Either Al Haramen or Yeak Kabowa will complete the quarterfinal lineup tonight.
The quarterfinals will be played next year at Old Kampala Futsal Arena, with dates to be confirmed.
