The 2023 Masaza Cup continued over the weekend with nine games played on match day three of group stages.

Buddu Ssaza Defeated Kyaggwe 1-0

Buddu Ssaza defeated Kyaggwe 1-0 in a game played at Masaka recreation ground thanks to captain Sharif Lubega‘s first half goal.

The Simon Mugerwa coached side registered the second win of the campaign.

They edged Kkooki 2-0 in the opening game and lost 0-1 to Buweekula last week.

Gomba FC Struggled Again

Record champions Gomba FC struggled again as they came from behind to register a 1-1 draw with Mawogola.

Arafat Baluku scored for the home side and Ashraf Neymar Kigozi netted the equalizer for Gomba to get an away point.

The 5-time champions Gomba, have now collected four points from three games and they sit third in Muganzirwazza group.

Reigning Champions Busiro Suffered Second Defeat

The reigning champions Busiro suffered the second defeat of the campaign in just three matches.

Ssese hammered Busiro 2-1 in the game played at Lutoboka playground and this was coach Ibrahim Kirya‘s last game.

Kyadondo Defeated Kkooki 2-0

Hassan Mubiru and Faisal Kyazze were both on target as Kyadondo defeated Kkooki 2-0 at Homsidallen playground.

Buleemezi Comfortably Beat Buvuma

Buleemezi comfortably beat Buvuma 3-1 at Kasana playground in Luweero to go on the top of Bulange group.

Butambala Beat Bugerere 2-1

In Ntenjeru, Butambala beat the hosts Bugerere 2-1 to go second on the table with same points (5) with group leaders Buleemezi.

Ssingo and Busujju Played to a Goalless Draw

Ssingo and Busujju played to a goalless draw at Manyi playground and Buluui and Buweekula shared spoils in a 1-1 draw at St. Lawrence playground.

Kabuula and Mawokota Played to a Goalless Draw

In Bakijjulula, Kabuula and Mawokota played to a goalless draw as Kabuula remained winless in Muganzirwazza group.

Match day three saw five teams winning their games and 17 goals scored.
