The match day 8 of the Buganda Masaza Cup group stages was full of action, with 5 teams winning and 4 teams drawing.

Erias Kiyemba‘s goal was enough to hand Ssingo a slim but sweet and meaningful 1-0 win over Busujju to advance to quarterfinals with two games in hand.

Record champions Gomba lost 2-1 to bottom side Kabula. Asibuka and Natulinda scored the two goals for Kabula as they registered their second win of the tournament while Samuel Lukoye netted the consolation for Gomba.

Mawokota shared spoils with Ssese in a 1-all draw. Mubaraka Masereka scored for Ssese while Joseph Kayondo netted for Mawokota as they earned a point that took them one point on top of Gomba in Muganzirwaza group.

Buddu struggled again as they remained winless in the last two games. Last year’s finalists, scored through George Isingoma but Ramathan Mwanga‘s equalizer from the spot, denied Buddu three points as they shared points with Kyaddondo.

Buweekula played to a 1-1 draw with Kyaggwe but remained on top with 3 points ahead of second-placed Buddu.

Sharafah Mukiibi scored for Buweekula while Yusuf Mukwana netted Kyaggwe’s goal. Buweekula is the only unbeaten team so far in the tournament.

Defending champions Busiro fought hard to narrowly beat Mawogola 1-0, thanks to Bruno Mukyaya‘s all important goal. Busiro are now three points behind table leaders Mawokota in Muganzirwaza group.

Buluuli and Bugerere also registered narrow wins over Kooki and Butambala respectively while Buvuma held Bulemeezi in a 2-2 draw.
