Uganda’s She Cranes delivered another commanding performance at the Celtic Cup, sweeping past Northern Ireland 72–46 on Thursday evening at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, Scotland.
It was an evening of pure dominance, and a victory that emphasized Uganda’s growing confidence in this year’s round robin competition.
President Commonwealth Sport Dr. Donald Rukare joined the team moments after the final whistle, celebrating a fully deserved second win of the tournament.

The She Cranes didn’t start well, struggling to find rhythm early on. But once they settled, the game shifted dramatically. By the end of the first quarter, Uganda had turned a shaky start into a solid 19–11 lead.
The gap widened in the second quarter as Northern Ireland failed to match Uganda’s pace or precision. The She Cranes punished every mistake and stretched their advantage to 38–22 at halftime.
Uganda continued to control the match in the third quarter, cruising to a 55–32 lead through relentless defensive pressure and smooth transitions. The final quarter brought more of the same authority, sealing a comfortable 72–46 victory.
Star shooter Mary Nuba praised the team’s growth and focus.

“We wanted to start strong and finish strong, and that’s exactly what we did,” she said.
“We’re improving every game. We still have three more to go, so we keep building.”
She noted that the team still has areas to refine, especially their ball movement.
“We need to centralize more and move the ball quicker so we can score faster,” she added.
“Thanks for supporting us. Even without a streaming link, we see all your love on social media.”
With confidence soaring, Uganda now looks ahead to a crucial clash with hosts Scotland on Friday, November 28, at the same venue.
