Sommet Basketball Club coach Albert Aciko wants sharper defence as his team faces 10-time champions City Oilers in Game Two of the National Basketball League semifinals Friday night at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

Sommet shocked the defending champions with an 86–74 win in Game One to lead the best of five series 1–0. But Aciko says the job is far from done.

“We played well but had lapses in transition defence,” he said after Thursday’s practice. “That gave the Oilers easy points. We’ve worked on making stops and cutting those chances.”

Sommet’s attack shone in the opener, with Peter Cheng posting 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Fataki Nyembo and Mark Ngobi added 18 and 17. Aciko says balanced scoring keeps the team flowing.

“We need multiple players in double figures,” he noted. “Sharing the ball keeps everyone involved.”

For the Oilers, it’s a must-win to keep their drive for an 11th straight title alive. Tip-off promises another entertaining game as Sommet aim for a 2–0 lead.
