- Magic Stormers 78-60 KCCA Leopards
Auma Angella starred on Wednesday night as the Magic Stormers truimped over KCCA Leopards 78-60 in the National Basketball League quarter-final playoffs at Lugogo Indoor Arena, forcing a decisive Game Three.
Auma managed 23 points and 4 rebounds better than the 14 she put up in Game One.
The game started tight, with the Stormers trailing 14-13 after the first quarter, thanks to Nyachwo Owor’s late layup.
KCCA then took control in the second quarter, led by Martha Soigi’s turnaround jumper, to secure a 37-25 halftime lead.
After the break, the Stormers roared back. Driven by Auma’s sharp shooting and fearless drives, they leveled the game 51-51 by the end of the third quarter.
From there, they dominated, holding KCCA to just nine points in the final period while storming to an 18-point win.
Auma led all scorers with 23 points, while Joy Nekesa Mupalia added a brilliant double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds.
Daphine Adong also chipped in 18 points as the Stormers had three players in double figures.
For KCCA, Soigi and Tracy Namugosa scored 11 points each, with Perus Nyamwenge adding 10, but their efforts couldn’t stop the Stormers’ second-half surge.
The win sets up a winner-takes-all Game Three, where both teams will fight for a spot in the NBL semi-finals.
