JKL controlled the first half and led by nine at the break, but UPDF rallied in the third quarter, trimming the gap to 47-44.

The Dolphins responded emphatically in the final period, outscoring the Lady Tomahawks 32-8 to seal the win.

Christian Namyalo carried UPDF with a game-high 27 points but lacked support as no other teammate reached double figures.

The victory was expected, with JKL finishing the regular season top of the table while UPDF just squeezed into the playoffs as the eighth seed.

With a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series, the Dolphins are now a win away from the semifinals.

Elsewhere, hosts JT Jaguars thrilled their fans with a commanding 71-36 victory over Miracle Eaglets in the other women’s quarterfinal.
