National Basketball League | Final | Women | Game 4
- JKL Lady Dolphins 69-61 JT Lady Jaguars
JKL Lady Dolphins are now just one win away from reclaiming the National Basketball League (NBL) title after a hard fought 69–61 victory over the Lady Jaguars in Game Four on Friday night at Lugogo Indoor Arena.
The win, JKL’s third in four games gives them a commanding 3–1 lead in the best of seven series.
The Lady Jaguars started brightly, racing to a 6–0 lead before JKL captain Hope Akello hit a three-pointer to spark her team.
The first quarter ended evenly at 19–19, but JKL took a slim 36–32 advantage into halftime thanks to Rhoda Nagitta’s late layup for the Jaguars.
The third quarter saw the Jaguars regain control with tight defense, holding JKL to just eight points and entering the final period ahead 46–44.
But the Lady Dolphins showed their championship pedigree in the fourth, tightening their defense and finishing strongly to secure the crucial win.
Akello led JKL with 17 points, while Evelyn Nakiyingi and Ritah Imanishimwe added 12 and 11 points respectively.
For the Jaguars, Mercy Batamuliza impressed with a double-double of 18 points and 20 rebounds, as Nagitta and Shakirah Nanvubya contributed 11 each.
JKL will now look to wrap up the series in Game Five on Sunday November 2, while the Lady Jaguars must win to stay alive.
