Magic Stormers staged a dramatic comeback to clinch the last spot in the Women National Basketball League Playoffs semifinals, edging KCCA Leopards 52–49 in a tense Game 3 at the Jaguars Den on Sunday.
The quarterfinal series had started in KCCA’s favor, but the Stormers fought back to win two straight games, showing grit and composure against one of Uganda’s most decorated women’s teams.
The Stormers came out fast, leading 18–10 after the first quarter before KCCA rallied to take a 32–29 halftime edge. After the break, the Stormers tightened their defense and built a 46–38 cushion heading into the fourth.
KCCA made a late push, but the Stormers held firm to seal the three-point win. Angella Auma scored 11 points and Peruth Nyamwenge added 10.
The victory sends Magic Stormers into the semifinals alongside UCU Lady Canons, JT Lady Jaguars, and KIU Rangers, keeping their title hopes alive and ending the Leopards’ season.
