  • RezLife Saints 62-48 City Oilers

Edrine Ekau brought the City Oilers’ machine to a halt, leading Rezlife Saints to a 62-48 win at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Friday night.

Ekau scored a game-high 25 points and controlled the game when it mattered most, especially in a dominant final quarter that decided the contest.

What had been an even battle for three quarters quickly slipped away from the Oilers.

The Saints, now with eight wins this season, showed composure and discipline. Their only losses have come against Sommet and Namuwongo Blazers. For the Oilers, it was their first defeat of the campaign.

The game started slowly. Fayed Baale hit an early three, but Michael Otieno replied with a fadeaway jumper. The Oilers edged the first quarter 14-10.

The Saints improved defensively in the second quarter and stayed close. Ekau tied the game at 30-30 from the free-throw line just before halftime.

Both sides remained level in the third quarter, matching each other point for point to leave the score at 46-46 heading into the final period.

Then the Saints took over. They opened the fourth quarter with a 16-0 run, shutting down the Oilers and taking full control. By the time Maluel Dier scored late on, the game was already gone.

Hon Kwany added 11 points for the Saints, while Otieno recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Dier led the Oilers with 10 points, and Joel Kayiira also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
