Football Classroom Football Club will have to wait a little longer for their next Plascon sponsored Uganda Cup outing. FUFA has rescheduled their Round of 64 clash against Calvary FC to February 9.

The match was originally set for February 6 at Nakivubo, with kick off at 3pm, details that remain unchanged apart from the date.

For Football Classroom, the delay only adds to the anticipation as they return to a stage they lit up just a season ago.

Memories are still fresh of their fairytale run in the 2024/25 Uganda Cup. Made up of administrators, journalists and former professionals, Football Classroom caught national attention by navigating the preliminary rounds and breaking into the main draw.

Their defining moment came at the YES Centre in Nsambya, where former Uganda international Mike Sserumaga curled in a sublime free kick to seal a famous 1–0 win over PCCP.

That journey ended in the Round of 64 on January 25, 2025, with a narrow 2–1 defeat to FUFA Big League side Buhimba United Saints.

Even then, the message was organisation, belief and experience can still blur the gap between non-league dreamers and established clubs.

Now back in the 2025/26 edition, Football Classroom return with unfinished business. Once again drawn in the Round of 64, they face a very different test in Calvary FC, a club whose rise has been swift and historic.

Calvary’s own Uganda Cup campaign last season ended early, falling 2–0 to Lugazi FC in the Round of 32 on February 24, 2025. But that setback was quickly overshadowed by a remarkable league season.

The Yumbe-based “Horizon Stars” went on to win the FUFA Big League title, earning their first ever promotion to the Uganda Premier League.

Life at the top level has been tough. As the season progresses, Calvary FC are still searching for their first Premier League victory, adding urgency to their cup date with Football Classroom.
