The Mugoye I knew …..

Today, we are filled with heavy hearts to bid farewell to a remarkable individual, Mr. Darius Mugoye, the second vice president of FUFA.

His sudden departure from our lives leaves a void that can never truly be filled and tears that will never completely heal .

As we remember him, we celebrate not only his contributions to the beautiful game of football but also the qualities that defined him as a leader and a friend.

A Pillar of Peace and Unity

Mr. Mugoye was, above all, a peace-loving leader. In a world where peaceful co-existence is very rare and where the passion for football can sometimes lead to disagreements and divisions, he stood as a beacon of unity, always seeking common ground and harmony.

He was a man who embodied the ideals of sportsmanship and camaraderie.

His unwavering dedication and availability were truly exceptional. When many of us would falter or lose focus, Mr. Mugoye remained resolute in his commitment to the betterment of Ugandan football.

His reliability was a testament to his love for the game and his desire to see it flourish. Football was his daily duty always relaxing in the grass corner of the fufa compound where one could hardly miss seeing him

One of his most notable qualities was the trust he inspired from the FUFA Historical President and his colleagues.

This trust was earned through hard work, dedication, and an unshakable belief in the principles of integrity and transparency which the Fufa President stands for.

Mr. Mugoye was a man who led by example and was always guided by what was best for the sport.

A Man of the People

Mr. Mugoye was a fantastic mobilizer. His ability to rally support and resources for the advancement of football was unparalleled.

He knew how to bring people together, inspiring them to work collectively towards a common goal, building consensus which is a trait that we can all learn from.

His great listening skills endeared him to many. He made people feel heard, valued, and understood. He was approachable, and his genuine interest in the concerns and ideas of others made him an effective leader and a trusted confidant.

His passion for the game was evident in his tireless efforts to develop football in Uganda. He worked relentlessly to ensure that the sport reached new heights, touching the lives of countless individuals and inspiring future generations of footballers.

A Life Well-Lived

As we mourn the loss of Mr. Mugoye, we also celebrate his life and the indelible mark he left on Ugandan football. Let us carry forward the legacy of his leadership, his commitment to peace and unity, and his unwavering dedication to the beautiful game.
