Uganda Badminton rising star Abigail Ndagire stole the show at the inaugural Uganda Badminton Kabojja International School Tournament, winning three gold medals as the two-day event wrapped up Sunday in Buziga, Kampala.
The tournament drew 120 players from 15 schools, but Ndagire was in a class of her own. She claimed the U19 girlsโ singles, U15 girlsโ singles, and womenโs doubles titles.
In the U19 final, she overpowered Kabojja Internationalโs Megan Owomugisha 15โ1, 15โ2 after sweeping past Dhulupudi Sudharshini and Elizabeth Louiza. Teaming with Swaburah Nayiga, she dominated the womenโs doubles 15โ2, 15โ3.
Ndagire then capped her run with the U15 crown, defeating Nayiga 15โ5, 11โ8 following emphatic wins over Tendo Nakimuli and Kristabel Ahereza.

โThis gives me confidence to aim for bigger tournaments like the U15 City Tyres Championship and World Badminton Federation events.โ
Other standouts included Abu Althaf, who took the boysโ U19 and U15 singles, while Nayiga added the U13 girlsโ title.
Organizers hailed the event as a boost for grassroots badminton and plan to make it an annual fixture.
