KCCA FC have re-signed their former left back as a free agent after his stint with Express FC came to an end.

The 25-year-old becomes the club’s third signing of the transfer window, joining Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Lazaro Bwambale.

KCCA acted quickly to beat off interest from rivals NEC FC, sealing Achai’s return as part of their rebuild ahead of the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League season.

Achai knows Lugogo well. A product of the KCCA Junior Team, he rose through the ranks while still at Kibuli SS, playing alongside the likes of Allan Okello and Mustafa Kizza. Promoted to the senior team in 2017 by then-coach Mike Mutebi, Achai was key to KCCA’s domestic and continental campaigns.

Though he was released before last season and joined Express FC, his strong performances reignited interest from his former club.

Now back at KCCA, Achai brings valuable experience and versatility to the squad.
