Uganda’s Pool teams have made a flying start at the Africa Ultimate Pool Championship, with both the She Pool Cranes and the men’s side turning heads at the eBundu Lodge in Mpumalanga, South Africa.

For the She Pool Cranes, their debut has been nothing short of inspiring. After a grueling overnight journey from Johannesburg, the Ugandan ladies showed immense character from the first break.

They opened with a tough 19–6 loss to the formidable Uganda men’s team, but quickly bounced back.

In their next game, they stunned Kenya’s senior side 13–12 in a nail-biting finish, sealing victory in the final frames.

Riding on that momentum, they went on to beat Team Windhoek from Namibia, earning a crucial bonus point to boost their standings.

With ten more teams to face in the round-robin stage, the She Cranes are brimming with belief and determination.

Their spirited start has brought energy and excitement to the championship, which features top talent from across the continent.

Meanwhile, Uganda’s men’s team remains unstoppable. They opened with a commanding win over Uganda B, then followed it up by defeating Tanzania’s Cuemasters 16–9 to maintain their unbeaten streak.

Both Ugandan sides have set the pace for what promises to be an electrifying week of continental pool action.

The team events run until Wednesday, followed by the singles competition later that afternoon.

The Africa Ultimate Pool Championship concludes on Saturday, October 18, 2025, but Uganda’s cue stars are already making their mark on South African soil.
