Ahimbisibwe on target as URA ends Lugazi’s unbeaten run

Forward Ivan Ahimbisibwe scored in the 24th minute while guiding URA FC to beat Lugazi FC 1-0.

The game played on 19 December 2024 at Hamz Stadium Nakivubo handed URA FC a second successive win having beaten Express FC 2-1 in the previous outing.

The win over Lugazi FC caused the visitors to lose the unbeaten run which they have kept since Matchday 4 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

The last time Lugazi FC lost a game was on 6th October when they lost 1-0 to Maroon FC at Luzira Prisons ground.

Since that loss, Lugazi FC went on to play 9 games without a loss before facing URA FC.

The loss didn’t only break the run but it also handed the first loss for Lugazi FC under Steven Bogere.

With that win, URA FC is now 4 games unbeaten as they improve on the table to fourth position while Lugazi FC the loss left them in 12th place.

Elsewhere Maroon FC fought from a goal down to hand Police FC the first loss at home in a 2-1 win courtesy of Ivan Ashaba’s brace.
