The 2025/26 Uganda Premier League season will kick off with all 16 clubs having confirmed head coaches, meeting FUFA’s new licensing rule.
FUFA announced on Wednesday, August 13, that every club must have a coach with at least a CAF A licence to improve standards and meet professional requirements.
The regulation has seen several bench changes, with some teams sticking to familiar local faces and others opting for foreign expertise.
Vipers SC will be led by Belgian Ivan Jacky Minnaert, the league’s only UEFA Pro Licence holder.
SC Villa’s Serbian coach Kovacevic Zeljko holds a UEFA A Licence, while the rest of the league has CAF A certified coaches.
