Badminton Uganda, together with its partners City Tyres and the Indian Community in Uganda, prepare for the 8th East Africa Badminton Challenge, with final arrangements done as they await action from October 16 to 19 at Lugogo Indoor Arena.
This follows the top sponsors for the Challenge handing over prizes to be contested for to the organizers, Badminton Uganda at their headquarters in the Industrial Area in Kampala.
Harbert Bashasha, who spoke on behalf of the Sponsors, said;
“This is our eighth time sponsoring Badminton. This is not a mistake, but we are doing it because of the way Badminton does things transparently, with integrity, and they are sure that accountabilities are done on time.”
He added, “Thanks to this partnership, the East Africa Badminton Challenge has grown, and not only is it growing, but the players are growing with it. So, I invite all sportsmen and well-wishers to come and support the players, teams, and countries.”
Badminton Uganda Chief Executive Officer Simon Mugabi, who received the package on behalf of the association, said;

“Today, the sponsor has handed over to us the Package for East Africa Badminton Challenge, and among there are trophies and cash prizes for professional winners.”
He added, “This year’s tournament, in the registration, we have got a player from as far as Cocos Island Indian Ocean, and on top of that, we are introducing the Coaches and Media events.”
With the tournament starting on Thursday, October 16th, at Lugogo Indoor Arena, more than 1200 players from various parts of the world, mainly East African countries, have confirmed their participation in the 8th East Africa Badminton Challenge.
