All eyes turn to Rabat on Tuesday night as Tanzania and Tunisia meet in a make or break Group C clash, with a place in the Round of 16 at the CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 knockout spot on the line.
The setting at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdellah Olympique Annexe adds extra significance.
This will be the first time the two sides face each other at the AFCON finals, opening a new chapter in a rivalry previously confined to qualifiers.
Their most recent meeting came in November 2020, when Youssef Msakni’s lone strike earned Tunisia a 1–0 win in Radès on the road to the 2021 tournament.
Tunisia come in as favourites, backed by experience and their current position. Second in the group behind Nigeria, the Carthage Eagles know qualification would mark a 15th knockout-stage appearance. Still, they are wary of the fine margins.

Midfielder Dylan Braun has underlined the need for focus and mental strength, warning that concentration, not reputation, will decide the contest.
Tanzania, though, are very much alive in the race. Third in the group with a point from their hard-fought 1–1 draw against Uganda, the Taifa Stars have shown belief and bite.
They have scored in both of their matches at this tournament, a feat they last achieved at the 1980 AFCON.
Defender Novatus Miroshi insists only a win will satisfy, as Tanzania chase a historic result and a place in the knockout rounds.
However it will also be the same for Uganda when they face Nigeria at the Fez Stadium in the same group with all matches at 19:00 EAT
