The School Alumni Sports Leagues are a unique platform that should be preserved and supported for their role in the fight against Non-Communicable Diseases.

These remarks were made by Kumar Sumit Gaurav, the CEO of Jubilee Life Insurance, today when announcing the brand’s partnership with BIFA Club, one of the top teams in the ongoing Budo League.

Referred to as the silent killers, Non-Communicable Diseases (NDCs) account for approximately 33% of all deaths in Uganda, according to recent figures by the World Health Organization.

Among the top risk factors that continue to aggravate the worrying statistics is the urban lifestyle which has left many people inactive.

“Non-communicable diseases are a critical health challenge in Uganda, accounting for a significant portion of deaths. Embracing physical exercise is one of the most effective ways to combat this growing crisis,” said Mr. Sumit.

He emphasized that beyond fostering social connections among former schoolmates, alumni sports leagues play a vital role in preventing cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, and chronic respiratory diseases.

“This is what modern-day insurance is all about. It is more about preventing unforeseen challenges before they arise, not just paying out policies. More than ensuring you have a healthy financial lifestyle through our diverse investment options like the Jubilee Venture Plan, SMART Save among others, firstly, we want you to be in great health physically,” Sumit explained.

The BIFA Club chairman Kapalaga Kimeze underscored the importance of the partnership with Jubilee stating; “The Sponsorship has been a cornerstone of our success this season.”

“From covering critical costs such as jerseys and league subscription fees to ensuring that our operations run smoothly, Jubilee’s sponsorship has directly contributed to our performance and growth,” he further noted.

Currently perched atop The Budo League season-8 table, Kimeze embraced the responsibility that the newly acquired partnership comes with emphasizing that BIFA Club is more determined than ever to finish in the best possible position and make both the supporters and sponsors proud.
