FUFA Women Super League side Rines SS WFC have renewed the contracts of five players ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Amina Nababi who was wanted by Wakiso Hill and her former club She Makerere FC has extended her stay at Rines SS WFC for one year and a half.
Nicknamed ‘Proud Lefter’, Nababi had a splendid performance last season in the FUFA Women Super League when she scored five goals and registered five assists for Rines SS WFC.
Captain Shakirah Nalule has also extended her contract with a further one and half years to stay at the Wakiso-based side.
Nalule who joined Rines SS WFC from Mukono High has been a key pillar for Bright Nyanzi coached side since the team was promoted to FUFA Women Super League in the 2021/22 season.
Goalkeeper Elsie Najjemba has also put pen to paper on a one and half year new contract to stay with at the club.
Najjemba joined Rines SS WFC from Asubo Gafford Ladies FC and played a big role as her team finished second in the 2020/21 FUFA Women Elite League to earn super league promotion.
The soft-spoken goalkeeper Najjemba is remembered for saving Fazila Ikwaput’s late penalty on the last day of 2021/22 FUFA Women Super League in Masindi and her team earned a needed point to stay in the league.
Forwards Yasmeen Nalukwago and Maureen Nankinga are the other players who have renewed their contracts to stay at the team.
The two strikers are Rines SS academy graduates and both have extended their contracts for more two years.
Last season, Rines SS WFC finished 6th on the table with 21 points and they’ll be looking forward to finishing in a better place in the next season.
