Arrows defeat Boda Boda Union to reach Hamz Cup Quarters

In the match played on Wednesday evening at Nakivubo stadium, Arrows FC defeated Boda Boda Union 3-0 on penalties to qualify for the Quarterfinals.

In the historic match which started at around 4pm and played up to about 1.30pm, after normal time and Extra time fell 0-0, the match went to penalties to decide the winner of the contest.

In Penalties, Union struck first through Wanok Pate but goalkeeper Khalil Arafat save it. However, Referee Wasswa Ssali who was in charge of the match ordered a penalty to be retaken but again for Khalil from the line but it was restored again.

Union continued to miss with Abubakar Bukumuni and Juma Kisando forcing their penalties off target while Henry Komakech, Robert Abong and Rogers Kasule scored for Arrows. Boda Boda Union SC Deputy CEO Godfrey Obua Lubangakene said the focus will now be on the Fourth division league,

“We have done everything possible but luck was not on our side, all the chances we got and the penalty we got in normal time we failed to convert, For the league, we were supposed to play in Kampala regional but for the new reforms we are going to play fourth division again” Arrows FC manager Danny Kingston said

It has not been easy but we thank God that we managed to overcome the situation, every who have been in attendance of match have seen everything but thank God we have won, we have gone to the Quarterfinals and at least we have to finish in the final.

With four matches remaining at the round of the 16, the tournament is set to conclude on December 10 this year and more than 100 million will be distributed as prizes.
