In an AGM held on Saturday, February 28, the Federation unveiled the report received from the National Council of Sports, “By this time, as we hold the 2026 AGM, we are glad to inform you that NCS gave us feedback on our application to register as Athletics Uganda. 90% we were in compliance with just a few things we lacked,” said Otucet.

“And as the leading Sports Governing body, we are looking forward to getting them right, and we are closely stepping up. Though we are all over the country, last year we had only 55 members, and we have managed to admit 29,” Otucet said.

On the same cause, Diana Kwesiga, who represented National Council of Sports General Secretary Dr. Patrick Bernard Ogwel, empowered the reported report by saying,

“As NCS, we are pleased that Athletics is among the sports Governing bodies that reacted to comply with our legislation. Again, Athletics Uganda is among the Federations we have observed since the process started, and we are hopeful to register them.”

NCS is continuing to study and enforce applicant sports bodies to fulfill their compliance with rules they are obligated to in order to secure operating licenses.
