Joseph Baguma’s brilliant bowling powered Aboojo to an eight-wicket win over Wanderers in a UCA Men’s 50 Overs Cricket League relegation fight at Lakeside Oval, Entebbe, on Sunday.
After winning the toss, Aboojo sent Wanderers in to bat. Baguma ripped through the line-up with 5 for 37 in 9.5 overs.
Perry Wazombe fought with 46 off 62 balls, but Wanderers still folded for 147 in 36.5 overs. Mathew Musinguzi (2/45) and Fortunate Alijuna (1/5) added support as wickets tumbled.
Aboojo’s reply was swift. Amos Ahura hit 50 from 59 balls, and captain Brian Asaba smashed an unbeaten 73 from 63, including four sixes. Musinguzi’s quick 11* sealed the chase in 22.4 overs.
The win moved Aboojo to fifth with 11 points, while Wanderers stayed bottom, level on eight points with Avengers.
Elsewhere, Kutchi Tigers beat Tornado Bees by 76 runs (D/L) to remain second, tied on 20 points with leaders Ceylon Lions.
