Kitara FC head coach Wasswa Bbosa has set his sights on nothing less than victory as his team prepares to take on Police FC in their Uganda Premier League game after the International break at Kavumba Recreation Ground on Thursday.

With his side struggling to find consistency in recent matches, Bbosa insists that Kitara will be going all out in search of three crucial points.

Kitara come into this encounter eager to return to winning ways after failing to secure maximum points in their last two outings. They suffered a 1-0 defeat to BUL FC at Hamz Stadium before settling for a 1-1 draw against Mbarara City in the Western derby at Butema.

These results have seen them drop from fourth to sixth place in the league standings, with KCCA and URA overtaking them.

Bbosa, however, remains optimistic that his side is in a much better position than they were during the first leg where they fell 1-0 to Police FC at Royals Park in Butema.

That defeat came courtesy of an Augustine Kacancu strike in the 28th minute but the Kitara coach believes his team is ready to turn the tables this time around.

“We lost to them at home in the first leg, but quite a number of things have gotten better for us since then,” Bbosa stated.

“We are targeting maximum points, and we shall be going all out at Kavumba.”

While Kitara will be looking to avenge their first-leg loss, Police FC come into this fixture with confidence. The Cops have won their last two matches, beating Express FC 2-1 in the league and securing a narrow 1-0 victory over Maroons FC in the Uganda Cup.

However, their last home game at Kavumba ended in a 1-0 defeat to Vipers SC. They will now be looking to use home advantage to complete a league double over the Royals.

For Kitara, a win would provide a huge morale boost ahead of their next fixture at home against KCCA.

Kitara will be without defender Amos Etoju, who is suspended after accumulating his third yellow card in the draw against Mbarara City. Benjamin Nyakoojo is also ruled out due to an injury he sustained during their Uganda Cup clash against Gaddafi FC.

Additionally, Rogers Mugisha and Marvin Nyanzi remain on the sidelines with injuries. However, Captain Maxwell Owachigiu, Dudu Ramadhan, Arthur Kiggundu and David Kasaija are all available and ready to feature in the center back role.

The other game of the day will see NEC host Express in Lugogo, with NEC eyeing the same cause of revenge, having lost the tie’s first leg at Nakivubo.
