betPawa Futsal Super League: Match day 15 Review

The betPawa Futsal Super League match day 15 kicked off on Thursday this week and climaxed on Friday 22nd March, 2024 with all six games played at Old Kampala Arena.

A total number of 44 goals were scored while only one game ended all square.

Park FC maintained their unbeaten run after a narrow 2-1 win over Lubaga Grameen. Abasi Muluya netted the two important goals for Park FC while Abdulkarim Omar scored the consolation for Lubaga.

Coach Alex Ssegawa was happy with the win and is optimistic that the team will go on and win the league title.

“It was a hard and a technical game but we managed to withstand the pressure to win the game. There’s a few mistakes we made and we are going to rectify them and keep winning until the end of the season to lift the title,” said Ssegawa.

After beating the defending champions, Park FC are unbeaten and on top with 41 points, 8 points ahead of Luzira who are second on the table.

The second game of the day saw Kisugu FC humiliate Nansana ASKA Futsal Club, beating them 7-1

Keneth Majara scored four goals while compatriots Mugisha Richard, Micheal Birungi and Timothy Oyamot added a goal each for Kisugu, Patrick Ssekandi scored the only consolation for Nansana.

The victory helped Kisugu to 26 points and jump to fifth ahead of Nansana who are only one point behind. In the same game, Nansana’s goal scorer Patrick Ssekandi was sent off after a second bookable offence.

Meanwhile, in the early kick off the game on Friday, Mengo stunned Edgars Youth Programme with an impressive 5-0 victory

On Thursday, Kisenyi FC dropped points after a dramatic 4-4 draw with Kabowa Dream Team.

Dropping to third place from second after a draw, Kisenyi’s AbdiKarim Abdullahi scored two goals and is currently leading the goal scorer’s chart with 26 goals, one ahead of Lubaga Grameen’s Micheal Lubowa who failed to add on his tally against Park FC.

On the same day, FC Luzira got back to winning ways after demolishing bottom side Kawempe 12-3 to go second on the table.

Luzira’s Arafat Sentongo scored six goals on their big victory as they handed Kawempe their 15th consecutive loss.

Aidenal edged Kampala Junior Team 4-1. Kisiro scored a hat-trick and Swalleh Kaboyo sealed the victory while Joel Kizza netted the only goal for KJT.
