The 2025/26 FUFA Big League returns this weekend as the second round kicks off with Matchday 16 fixtures on 21 and 22 February 2026.

After the mid-season break, clubs step into a decisive phase that will define promotion hopes and survival battles. There is little room for error now. Consistency will separate contenders from pretenders.

At the top, Blacks Power FC resume action four points clear on 29, with promotion to the Uganda Premier League firmly in sight. Their first test is a tricky trip to Nwoya to face Young Elephant FC at Elephant Park, a venue known to trouble visiting sides.

Blacks Power beat Young Elephant 3-1 earlier this season at Ebenezer University Playground, but they travel without captain Isaac Okello and goalkeeper Emmanuel Odongkara, both sidelined by injury.

The club has called on supporters to rally behind the team during the run-in. Okello has expressed confidence in the squad’s readiness and praised main sponsors Meru Millers for providing financial stability that has allowed the players to focus on football.

Media officer Abel Ogwang confirmed the team will continue hosting matches at Ebenezer University Playground as Akiibua Memorial Stadium remains under construction. Replica jerseys will also go on sale as the club strengthens its bond with fans.

Elsewhere on Matchday 16, the chasing pack aim to stay close. Kigezi Homeboyz FC, currently second, visit Kaaro Karungi FC, while Ntugasaze FC host Nebbi Central FC in Mityana. Fourth-placed Bunyaruguru United FC travel to Mbale to face Kataka FC.

Other fixtures see Soltilo Bright Stars FC take on CATDA FC at Bugolobi Coffee Grounds, Paidha Black Angels SC host Mbale Heroes FC, Iganga United FC welcome Onduparaka FC, and Wakiso Giants FC face Kiyinda Boys FC at Wakisha Recreation Ground.

The golden boot race adds extra intrigue. Jimmy Ndalambi of Kiyinda Boys leads with 11 goals, followed by Gerald Ogweti of Bunyaruguru United on eight. Several others sit on seven, keeping the race tight.
