George Senkaaba‘s lone strike denied the Lugave clan its seventh Bika Bya Baganda football competition shield in a tense final.

The Kitara FC striker found the back of the net to hand his clan Ndiga their maiden shield at Mutesa II Wankulukuku stadium yesterday.

Lugave, still four titles away from Mmamba Gabunga who have 10 on their back threw away the golden opportunity to close the gap to three.

Ndiga joined the table of men for clans that have lifted the shield which witnessed its first edition back in 1950 with a move to celebrate cultural norms and values through sports.

On top of the title and gold medals, they took home 9 million shillings and the dummy cheque was received by their captain, veteran striker Geofrey Sserunkuma.

On the losing side, Lugave clan was rewarded with silver medals and 7 million shillings. But, before the final, Ffumbe defeated Kkobe 4-1 in the third playoffs.

Ffumbe’s brilliant display was rewarded with bronze medals and 5 million shillings while Kkobe bagged 3 million shillings.
