Reigning champions Ngeye and Nnyonyi Nnyange have confirmed their places in the 2023 Bika By’abaganda Netball finals after winning their respective semifinals games.
Ngeye defeated Nkima 33-30, while Nnyonyi Nnyange edged Mamba Namakaka 52-42.
The finals will be played on August 26, 2023, at a venue to be announced.
Last year’s title was won by Ngeye, who defeated Mamba Gabunga 37-35.
Dr. Sarah Nkonge, the chairprson of the Bika By’abaganda netball competition, has called on all clan heads and Kabaka’s subjects to come out and support the teams in the finals.
“I call upon all the clan heads together with Kabaka’s subjects to always give the possible support to the Netball teams as its always done to the boys,” she said.
“I also call upon people from Buganda including those whose teams are already out to come and support the teams because it is us to develop these games in Buganda.”
The finals are sure to be a closely contested affair, with both teams having strong squads.
Ngeye will be looking to defend their title, while Nnyonyi Nnyange will be hoping to win their first championship.
The finals will be played on August 26, 2023, at a venue which will be announced in due course.
