Home Football Men’s Football Others Bika Tournament: Mbogo send huge statement in win over Ngabi

In the ongoing 2022 Ebika Bya Buganda Tournament, Mbogo thumped Ngabi Nnyunga 5-0 on Thursday at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, to stamp their name among this edition’s huge challengers.

A brace from Ronald Nyanzi, a strike from Soltilo Bright Stars’ Nelson Senkatuka, and one apiece by William Kabunga and Abdul Rahuman Nyenje ensured Mbogo’s big victory on the evening.

In the day’s other match, Ngeye beat Nvuma 4-3 in what was a thrilling encounter at the Kyabaggu Stadium. A brace from URA FC’s Shafic Kagimu and a goal each for Tom Masiko and Rahmat Senfuka guided Ngeye to the win.

Former KCCA FC forward Davis Kasirye’s double and one from Abdul Bast Ssekajja provided Nvuma’s consolation.

In Bulemeezi county at Kawanda Playground, Nsenene needed a 5-3 penalty shootout win to get past Nkerebwe, following a barren stalemate at full-time.

The low scoring game on the match day had Balangira outwit Ngaali via a 5-4 shootout win at the Buddo Secondary School Grounds.

It had ended in a one-all draw after stoppage time. Pius Nakibinge struck for Balangira whereas Basham Mugwa netted Ngaali’s goal.

Next is the round of 16 as clans continue to battle for the trophy and the golden opportunity to play in front of the Kabaka.
