Bilal Hassun bagged four wickets on Tuesday as the Cricket Cranes continued with their preparations of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers in Namibia later this month.
The Cricket Cranes who arrived in Zimbabwe on Friday last week started their tour of the Southern African country with a slim 2-run win against Takashinga on Sunday in their opening warm up game, but they followed that with a comfortable 6 wicket win over the same side on Tuesday.
In their opening game, it was Ronak Patel (73) who took the headlines with his Man of the Match performance, but Tuesday belonged to Bilal who pocketed four wickets.
After his captain Brian Masaba winning the toss and opting for the ball, Bilal wasted little time in cleaning Takashinga’s top order as he dismissed both Cephas Zhuwao and Baxon Gopito for a combined five runs.
He added two more before Henry Ssenyondo and Alpesh Ramjani at the backend taking charge. Each picked up two wickets.
In their chase, Jackson Ogwang‘s charges got business done in the 17th Over. Simon Ssesazi (38) and Ronak (35) were the top run getters here.
This was the Cricket Cranes’ second warm up game. They will return to action against the same opponent on Wednesday, but will face Zimbabwe’s U-25 select on Friday and Saturday before rounding off their warm up games against Takashinga on Sunday.
The side will then set off for Namibia where the real deal will take place.
The purpose of this tour is to fine tune the team ahead of the crunch qualifiers.
