Sam Bisaso and Rehan Kitenda have secured their spots in the final of the under-13 boys category at the City Tyres East Africa Badminton Challenge. The youngsters defeated their opponents with dominant performances.
Bisaso reached the final by over coming Kalton Kisakye in the semifinals, winning 21-3 and 21-6. Kitenda also advanced, easily dispatching Virani Alid with scores of 21-5 and 21-3. Both Kisakye and Virani have earned bronze medals for their performances.
Bisaso’s journey to the final included a bye in the round of 64, victories over Ibrahim Mayiga (round of 32), Krish Madlani (round of 16), and Bashil Mushil (quarter final).
Kitenda, on the other hand, defeated Om Madlani, Abdul Rashad Kawuki, Ahmed Afeez (by walkover), and Hashim Kateregga to reach the quarterfinals.
The final for the under-13 boys category will take place on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Other age groups are still competing in the semifinals, quarterfinals, and last 16 rounds, having faced delays due to presidential engagements in Lugogo.
