Coming into the match, Blacks Power was under pressure to maintain momentum after a rough patch of form. But any doubts about their quality were quickly put to rest when Isaac Okello opened the scoring just 12 minutes in, giving the hosts the perfect start.

The visitors, Kaaro Karungi, proved stubborn in the opening exchanges, holding firm and looking for an equalizer. However, just as the first half was drawing to a close, Baker Buyala doubled the lead for Blacks Power, giving them a comfortable 2-0 advantage at the break.

With their confidence soaring, the Lira-based side came out firing in the second half. Joshua Omara extended the lead further with a well-taken goal before pacy forward Innocent Maduka made it 4-0 just eight minutes later, all but sealing the victory.

Kaaro Karungi did manage to grab a consolation goal in the 74th minute, but it was too little, too late. Blacks Power had already done the damage, and their dominance was never in doubt.

The win sees Blacks Power climb back to the top of the FUFA Big League table with 37 points from 18 matches, two points ahead of Buhimba Saints United who sit second with 35 points from the same number of games.

Coach Bob Obira’s side appears to have turned the corner after a three-game winless streak, following up their hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kataka FC with this commanding performance.

Their home record remains formidable, boasting eight wins and a draw from nine matches played at UTC Ground.

For Kaaro Karungi, the loss keeps them in seventh place with 25 points from 17 matches.

Their inconsistent form of seven wins, four draws and seven losses has left them stuck in mid-table, with a concerning goal difference of -6.
