  • Titans 104/9 in 20 Overs (Conrad Lubwama 25, Fred Achelam 24; Mathew Musinguzi 2/6, Yashashvi Joshi 2/17)

Blasters won by 23 runs

Blasters wrapped up a near perfect Batball MAXX T20 Challenge Cup campaign with a composed 23 run victory over Titans at the Lakeside Oval in Entebbe on Saturday evening.

Across two demanding weeks, Blasters were the tournament’s standout side. They won nine of their 10 matches, lost only once and finished on 18 points, six clear of second placed Gladiators who have a game in hand.

Long before the final ball was bowled, their consistency had already marked them as worthy champions.

Put in to bat, Blasters chose control over risk. Simon Ssesazi set the early tempo with a sharp 30 off 19 balls, while Charles Musemeza added a fluent 24 from 16 to keep things moving in the powerplay.

When the pace dipped, Abraiz Mir Ali steadied the innings with a calm, unbeaten 38 off 38 balls, supported late on by Yashashvi Joshi’s unbeaten 18. The total of 127 for four was not flashy, but it was smartly constructed on a tricky surface.

Titans kept things tight through Jaffer Ochaya and Ismail Munir, yet Blasters’ depth ensured they had enough to defend.

The chase never fully took off. Early breakthroughs from Emmanuel Laloyo and Okwalinga Emmanuel put Titans on the back foot, and the pressure only grew.

Musinguzi Mathew bowled with remarkable control, giving away just six runs in four overs and taking two key wickets.

Joshi added two more, while Abraiz Mir Ali and Pius Oloka chipped in to keep the asking rate out of reach. Fred Achelam’s 24 offered brief hope, but Titans finished on 104 for nine.

Earlier in the day, Fahad Mutagana led Warriors to a steady 17 run win over Strikers, tightening their hold on third place.
