Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC striker Brenda Munyana is set to leave the club after her contract expired, Nnalubaale Sports understands.
Munyana, 17, is a highly rated striker who has been one of the top performers in the Ugandan Women’s League in recent seasons. She scored 6 goals and assisted 5 times in the league last season.
Rayon Sport WFC, Simba Queens and As Kigali are all interested in signing Munyana, but Rayon Sport WFC are considered to be the favorites to land her signature.
After failing to sign Margret Kunihira, Rayon Sport switched their interest to Munyana, a versatile player who can be deployed as a striker or winger.
Rayon Sport WFC are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season and Munyana is seen as a key addition. She is a pacy and clinical striker who would add a lot to their attack.
Munyana is a product of the Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC youth academy and has spent her entire senior career at the club.
She is also a regular member of the Uganda U-18 Women’s National Team. She was part of the team that finished second in the inaugural CECAFA U-18 Women’s Championship in Tanzania this year.
Munyana’s departure is a blow to Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC who have lost a number of key players, but they are confident that they will be able to replace her.
