Buddu have become the 5th team to secure their place in the Masaza Cup quarterfinals after they and Ssingo received 3 points and 3 goals from two prematurely ended matches.

On August 25th, Buddu’s match against Kyadondo was abandoned after 84 minutes due to fan interference. The game was tied at 2-2 when referee Henry Musisi awarded Buddu a penalty following a Marvin Praise Wambuga handball. In accordance with tournament rules, Buddu was awarded a 3-0 victory.

Similarly, Ssingo’s match against Kooki was also abandoned at 0-0 after 70 minutes. Both teams were awarded 3 points and 3 goals.

With this decision, Buddu has climbed to 17 points, establishing a 4-point lead over second-placed Kyadondo. Buddu joins Ssingo, Busujju, Kabula, and Buwekula in the quarterfinals, leaving only three spots up for grabs.

The final group matches will take place on Sunday 8 September 2024 at respective play grounds, with Kyadondo, Kyaggwe, Buluuli, Mawokota, and Butambala competing for the remaining quarterfinal spots.

Buddu shall host Buluuli, Kyadondo will be up against struggling Bulemeezi, Kyaggwe take on Gomba, while on-form Butambala shall visit Bugerere in the decisive matches of the day.
