Buddu Ssaza have signed joint-top scorer Shakib Mayanja from Omutima Omusagi in a bid to boost their attacking options.
Mayanja netted seven goals and finished as joint-top scorer with Ngo‘s Joseph Ssemujju and he also helped Omutima Omusagi win the bronze medal in the 2023 Bika By’abaganda.
On Sunday, Buddu defeated Buluuli 2-1 to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2023 Masaza Cup where they’ll play Kyadondo.
Mayanja is expected to end the goal drought for Buddu who have been lacking a goal poacher with most of their goals coming from other departments especially the midfield.
Buddu is expected to make more signings before their quarterfinal first leg against Kyaddondo.
However, this comes shortly after the departure of Buddu first assistant coach Mike Sulaiman Mutyaba who resigned from his role.
