Buddu FC has continued the Masaza Cup trophy parade with a courteous visit to its sponsor Plascon today. The Masaka based side has hardly caught any breath since their 1:0 triumph over Kyaggwe in the final played at Namboole that earned it a third Masaza Cup title.

Speaking during the visit at the Plascon plant in Namanve, the deputy Pookino of Buddu county, Muwanga Dick recounted the momentous climax of the grueling tournament and offered cautionary counsel to the team to expect a tougher test next season.

“The sacrifices made were many and the preparation was intense, but at the end of the day it all paid off. It was a perfect toast to the commitment of the players, the management teams, the fans and especially our sponsors Plascon Uganda, without whose consistent support perhaps we would have fallen short. We are grateful for the continued partnership,” remarked Muwanga

Buddu not resting on their laurels

“But while we may celebrate and bask in the glory of our latest triumph, we shall soon go back to the drawing board and re-strategize for next season. When you are on top, you are the target of every opponent. And this makes getting to the top a lot easier than staying there. But we are more than determined to do this again, and again and again.” he added.

The Plascon MD Santosh Gumte, saluted the Buddu FC players and the management team for a job well executed pledging an extension of the existing partnership.

“We shall tangibly express our gratitude towards Buddu FC by renewing our commitment to the team. This is a very fruitful partnership with results to show.”

“Therefore, this hard-earned victory can only be rewarded with more support from all the stakeholders. In due time we shall announce our sponsorship package,” he added.

A few moments later, a sponsorship extension of Ugx 50,000,000 was announced by the paint giants to the applause of the Buddu players and staff.

The Plascon head of Sales Manager Moses Kato recounted the shared values that have strengthened the partnership between Buddu FC and Plascon Uganda.

He specifically pointed to sports as a major income generating activity for the youth that can keep them away from many lustful trappings.

“The Masaza tournament is one of the major pathways for players into the Uganda Premier League and later on the national team, the Cranes. Therefore, as talent identification platform the tournament has scored highly. But this can only be achieved with the on-ground scouting mechanisms of the participating clubs like Buddu FC. Above all, the clubs are a good catchment place to instill life values to the youth that can shape into better citizens and community role models,” Mr. Kato said.

For now, Buddu FC continues its merrymaking parade a toast to a remarkable season that has made the team hungrier for more accolades next year.
