Michael Jinta scored a beautiful header to guide Busiro to winning the first game this Masaza Cup campaign, beating Buluuli 1-0 at Sentema Ssaza ground.
Jinta scored in the stoppage time of the game, heading in Trevor Baale’s tempting cross from the right flank.
Picking up the first win, Buluuli was losing its first game, having won and drew in the opening two games played so far.
After making headlines, Jinta joyously stated; “It is a special moment for team Busiro. We have got the long-awaited win, and we are only aiming to improve more and more. I am happy that I have scored, and I promise to work harder in the next game.”
Buluuli’s Joseph Enyabu has called on fans to endure the loss and wait for an improved side when they face Gomba next weekend. “It is hard to lose the game, but it has happened. I tell our fans that we still have games, and we are going to improve in our next game. We promise to start winning as soon as possible.”
In other games played today, Gomba faced more bizarre incidents as they fell for the third time In their third outing, Busujju beat them 2-1.
Buddu edged Ssese 1-0 to go on top of the Bulange group with seven points. Busujju is second with 6 points, Busiro is third with 5 points, Buluuli is fourth with 4 points, Ssese is fifth with three points, and Gomba keeps the bottom spot without a point.
In other groups, Mawokota had a twins affair as Isingoma George bagged his third of the campaign before his twin Kato George doubled the lead, and later Abdul Razak Takuba sealed the 3-0 win over Buvuma.
Buweekula got their first win of this campaign, beating Bulemeezi 3-0, with Jimmy Kalema Kiwemmere netting a brace, and Jonathan Luyonde scored the other goal.
On Saturday in the Masengere group, Kyadondo drew 1-1 with Bugerere, and after week three, Mawokota is leading the group with 7 points. Kyadondo, Buweekula, and Buvuma are all tied on 4 points, Bugerere is with 2 points, and Bulemeezi sits last with one point.
In Muganzirwazza, there was only one game, and Kyaggwe defeated Mawogola 2-0 with David Mugalu and Marvin Busulwa the goal scorers.
On Saturday, Ssingo played a goalless draw against Butambala, like Ssingo, with three draws in three games, while Butambala has just one point, have been played.
On Friday, Kabula drew 2-2 with Kooki in Lyantonde, and Kyaggwe is leading the group with 7 points. Ssingo, Kabula, Mawogola, and Kooki all have 3 points, while Butambala has just one point.
