With the battle to get promoted to FUFA Big League continuing, in the Buganda Region, the competition became stiffer following leaders Buwambo United dropping points while challengers Young Simba and Simba/ UWA FC win.
On Sunday, January 25, Buwambo United played a goalless draw at home against Wobulenzi United while both closest challengers won their matches.
Young Simba at Bombo Army Barracks defeated Kajjansi United 2-0, with Steven Magala and Arnold Ajuna scoring the goals that took them to 25 points, level with Buwambo United at the top of the league table.
Simba/Uganda Wildlife Authority also narrowly beat Kiboga United 1-0. Jorram Ogena scored the only goal of the match that took place at Kiboga Ssaza ground over the weekend.
After the twelfth round, only 3 points separated the top three, with Kira United trailing in fourth place, just 2 points behind third place following their 1-0 win over Manyangwa FC.
The league shall return on Tuesday January 27 with two rescheduled fixtures between Super Eagles Lugongwe and Kiboga United at Ntunda Primary School in Kyankwanzi while UG Sports Arena will host Nyendo FC at Ntenjeru Ssaza Ground.
