Buganda Schools Championship to climax as Kawempe, Buddo SS and Kawanda hunt for doubles

Buganda Schools Championships are set to climax on Sunday 16th March 2025 as Kawempe Muslim targets Boys’ and Girls’ Football titles.

Buddo SS is up for Boys’ football and netball while hosts Kawanda SS are chasing Netball and handball. titles. 

The Championships has been in action since 12th March with a huge number of Primary and Secondary Schools across both genders taking part at Kawanda Secondary School in Wakiso district. 

Coming into the closing stage, the program shall start in the Morning and the major final shall be between Buddo SS and Kawempe Muslims at 3:30 pm. 

To reach the finals, Buddo SS defeated the surprise team of the tournament St Austine 1-0 thanks to Umar Katemba’s strike in the semifinals.

Kawempe Muslim, on the other hand, overcame giant killer Gombe High School Kawaala by 3-0 capitalising on high towers in his lineup.

In the other final, Buddo SS shall be facing host Kawanda SS in Netball. In the semifinals, Buddo in eliminated Kajjansi Progressive while Kawanda SS overcame neighbors of Matugga Mixed. 

In girls’ football, Kawempe Muslim overpowered Trinity College Nabbingo 5-0 to set up a final against Uganda Marty’s High School Lubaga who passed the hard route against Rayan Islamic School to win 1-0.

In the Primary Schools category, defending champions St Noa Zana is on the verge of defending the title but Mugwanya Preparatory is the block in the way.
