The 2025 Buganda Schools Football Championship (Kabaka Cup) hosts Kawanda Secondary School has been drawn against Buddo Secondary School in the Round of 16.
Last season Kawanda SS was also the host when they lost in the final to Uganda Marty’s High School Lubaga.
Following the exit of the defending champions at the group stage, the finalist progressed to the knockout stage after finishing second in Group H behind Kyadondo Secondary School.
To finish second, Kawanda SS defeated Lake View Kitinda and Buziga Islamic before playing in a goalless draw against the group leader.
On the other hand, Buddo Secondary School advanced from Group J after overcoming Bombo Secondary School and Caltec Academy 2-0 and 3-0 to top the group with 7 points.
The draw held on the evening of 13th March 2025, also saw St Francis Busunju falling to guest team St Mary’s Boarding school Kitende B, USSSA National champions St Jullian was drawn against St Andrews Kaggwa Gombe SS.
