Bugema University claimed their first victory of the 2024-2025 Pepsi University Football League (UFL) with a 2-1 win over Kampala University on October 1st, 2024. The match took place at Bugema University’s campus.

Fred Wamani opened the scoring for Bugema in the 3rd minute, assisted by Charles Kagoda’s corner kick.

The hosts dominated the first half, with goalkeeper Brian Ozelle making crucial saves to deny Denny Felix Wafula and Aziz Opio from doubling the lead.

In the second half, Sulaiman Ssentongo extended Bugema’s lead with a header from Wafula Felix’s cross. Although Kampala University pulled one goal back through Benjamin Nsubuga‘s powerful header from Sharif Ssembatya’s corner in the 54th minute, Bugema held on for the victory.

With this win, Bugema University rebounds from their opening-game loss to Gulu University while condemning the Flying Eagles who come into the game with a win over Kampala International University from the opening game to defeat.
