Bugema University coach Nyanzi Medhi is targeting a win over defending champions Uganda Martyrs University in their top-of-the-table clash on Thursday at 3PM.
The two sides are currently first and second in Group A of the University Football League, with Uganda Martyrs leading on goal difference.
Bugema will be seeking revenge for their 3-1 defeat in the first leg, while Uganda Martyrs will be looking to bounce back from their 1-1 draw with Kabale last week.
Nyanzi is aware of the challenge that his team faces, but he is confident that they are ready for the game.
“This game poses its own challenges and pressures because you are either here until the end of the tournament or your chances hang on a balance till the last game which tends to be hard,” he said.
“For us as a squad, we are not ready to be second. It is pressure football now at this stage, and that is what we have prepared for.”
Uganda Martyrs coach Eric Kisuze is also expecting a tough game.
“Of course, it’s never easy playing against Bugema as they are a dangerous opponent,” he said.
“Last season we lost 1-0 to them at their home and we expect a similar game in terms of aggression.”
“But we are well prepared. We had a good rest and are determined to show our best face and win the game so that we can defend our trophy.”
Elsewhere, Muzoora Alleluyah scored the only goal of the game as Kabale University defeated University of Kisubi 1-0.
