Uganda ruled the 2025 Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games, claiming both the boys’ and girls’ football titles after thrilling finals on Friday.
Bukedea Comprehensive School made history in the boys’ category, lifting their first FEASSA crown with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Kenya’s Musingu Secondary School.
Tournament star Businge Amisi Yabil scored both goals and was named Most Valuable Player (MVP).
In the girls’ final, St Noa Girls Secondary School defended their title with a 1-0 victory over fellow Ugandan giants Kawempe Muslim Secondary School.
Midfielder Sumaya Nalumu scored the winner in the 13th minute, converting a rebound from her own free kick to secure back-to-back championships.
Kawempe, guided by coach Ayub Khalifah, nearly leveled late in the game, but striker Agnes Nabukenya’s low shot was saved by St Noa’s goalkeeper Lillian Nakirya.
Despite the loss, Kawempe took silver, with Nabukenya finishing as top scorer with nine goals and winning the girls’ MVP award.
Elsewhere, Uganda’s Amus College School missed out on bronze after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Kenya’s Bishop Njenga Girls School in the third-place playoff.
