Ngabi Nsamba head coach, Michael Bukenya, is fully confident in his clan to reclaim the Bika Bya Baganda Football Shield.
Ngabi Nsaba smashed Ngabi Nnyunga 4-1 to storm into semifinals where they will be tasked against Kkobe.
In the game played at Wankulukuku on May 28th, Najib Yiga opened the score through a free kick and Bruno Bunyaga doubled the lead through a penalty for a 2-0 halftime lead.
Early in the second half, Ngabi Nnyunnga pulled a goal back through Augustine Lubega who played his last career game for the clan.
“This is my last year to play for my clan. What we have experienced as players forced me to come to this decision, I will stay as a normal supporter of the clan team.”
As the game came closer for the Kanyanas, the Nsambas got tougher until captain Vianey Ssekajugo extended the lead to 3-1 before Stephanie Yiga sealed the game at 4-1.
In the post-match interview, Bukenya stood optimistic in his team to defend the shield which they won last year.
“I believe we are in good shape to win this tournament again, our team is well balanced and every member is well focused, we can handle any game at its approach and it will be a case in the semifinal against Kkobe”.
Kkobe to reach semifinals expelled Ngo after a 4-2 win at Wakisha on May 28th, Michael Kayondo and Shaban Kayongo each bagged a brace while Godfrey Ssekyewa and Nicholas Ssenono scored for Ngo.
In other quarterfinals, Reagan Mpande and Daniel Mzee Sserunkuuma guided Ndiga to overcome the flowing display from Mutima Musagi at Wakisha in a late kickoff at Wakisha.
Ndiga in the semifinal will face Nsenene, the winner of the late kickoff at Wankulukuku, as they beat Mmamba Kakoboza 2-1.
George Masembe and Robert Ssewanyana scored in either halves while Nicholas Kabonge scored for Kakoboza a goal which was an equalizer to Masembe’s goal before Ssewanyana scored the winner.
